Jorge Soriano Castelan of Bridgeton was killed on Dec. 2 when his car veered off Route 55 in Vineland and struck a tree, as previously reported by Daily Voice.

A GoFundMe launched for Castelan's funeral had raised more than $1,500 as of Thursday, Dec. 14.

"He worked tirelessly with the dream of providing for his loved ones, including the admirable goal of buying a home for his parents," reads the campaign, started by Citlalli Jimenez and Micaela Castelan.

"He was the type of person who would buy flowers from street vendors, just so they could pack up and go home a little earlier. This small yet significant gesture showed his thoughtful and caring spirit, always looking out for others in everyday moments."

A lifelong Bridgeton resident, Jorge graduated from Bridgeton High School last year and had been working for Amazon as a picker in the Pennsgrove warehouse, according to his obituary.

He is survived by; his parents, Plutarco and Micaela; four sisters, Maria, Marina, Alma and Ana; his aunt, Luz; his uncle, Blas; and his goddaughter Zamara, his obituary says.

"His absence has left a void that cannot be filled."
